The members of the underground movement and their close relatives claim that some of the members of the Miadziel organization were not discovered by the investigating authorities and stayed free Iryna Pauliuconak from Juskavicy, Ivan Hracanik from Unuki, Branislah Pisarcyk from Piarehradzdzie, “young cook” from Miadziel.
It is important to note that the anticommunist movement of the Miadziel and Smarhon youth was not an extraordinary case in the political life of the Miadziel region of that time. In 1950, the year of the Rascislau Lapicki’s organization case, the regional court tried 30 political cases, and in 1951 about 40.
Moreover, it is to be remembered that the most serious cases were tried not by the regional court, but (as it happened with the MiadzielSmarhon underground) by the Military tribunal of the Belarusian military district. Therefore only in two years there were more than 70 political cases tried in the Maladziecna region. And at that time there were 11 more regions Miensk, Horadnia, Bierascie, Baranavicy, Polacak, Viciebsk, Mahilieu, Homiel, Babrujsk, Paliessie, Pinsk. Even if the anticommunist resistance was weaker in the eastern regions, however on the whole during the 19501951 it comes out more than five hundred political trials. And what if we count all the postwar years of the Soviet Belarus?!
