Altogether there were 331 contributions received: 10 from Brest province, 67 from Viciebsk province, 12 from Hrodna province, 4 from Homel province, 8 from Mahilou province. 20 from Minsk province and 210 from Minsk. 327 works passed on to the second round. Altogether there were 334 pupils who took part in the competition: 123 from secondary schools, 7 from Liceums, 5 from gimnasiums and 196 students from other secondary educational establishments.
One can note the Minsk College of Mechanical Engineering , the Highest Technical College of Electronics (Minsk), the Hrodna State Polytechnical College, Schools No. 180 and No. 2 (Minsk), School No. 3 (town of Vileika), School No. 3 (town of Hlybokaye), Vocational Schools No. 24 and No. 8 (Minsk) forthe active participation in the competition. 3 works were submitted from the Babrujsk colony for minors.
'file Jury selected 35 winners who were invited to the aw ard ceremony in Minsk.
The Jury consisted of the Main and Subsidiary ones. The members of the Main Jury' were prominent Belarusian historians and men of letters: Vital Skalaban, Uladzimir Arloit, Lavon BarSceuski, Ihar Kuzniacou, Aleh Trusau, Zahar Sybieka.. The Jury’s work was organized in four stages. At first the secretary of the competition selected the works that met main competition requirements. Then the members of the Subsidiary Jury evaluated the contributions in the second and the third rounds. The final decision was made by the Main Jury. Each paper had its code and was considered anonimously.
The Jury awarded the prizes to the following winners:
